Little Tybee Latitude
Yield: 1 cocktail
Glassware: Old-fashioned or similarly sized heavy bottom rocks glass
Tools: Cocktail, muddler, and swizzle stick or cocktail straw
Ingredients:
3-4 fresh basil leaves (roughly torn)
1/2 fl. oz. (15ml) fresh grapefruit juice
1 dash simple syrup
1 1/2 fl. oz. (45ml) gin
1 splash tonic water, or to taste
Instructions:
1. Add the basil, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup to the glass.
2. Use a long handled cocktail muddler to crush the basil until well bruised.
3. Fill the glass with medium ice cubes.
4. Pour the gin over the ice and stir gently with a swizzle stick or cocktail straw; top with a splash of tonic water, to taste.
